Kaspersky Internet Security
Rootkit technologies are recently becoming more and more popular among virus makers. The reason is obvious – the possibility to hide the malware and its components from the users and antivirus programs. It's not difficult to finds open-source code of  , which certainly leads to a wide usage of this technology in different Trojan or spy programs, such as spyware/adware, keyloggers, so on.

Norton Internet Security 2009 Review

For some time Norton security products have been slowing down every PC they're installed on. Some performance improvements started to appear in the 2008 products range but it's taken another year to make things adequate. Not only does the new NIS 2009 install in about a minute but its CPU and memory usage are down. Both scan speeds and boot times are significantly reduced. Updates are shorter but much more frequent.

BitDefender Total Security 2009

“Total Security” – is a bold claim. BitDefender's security products have long been a security geek's delight, with lots of features. Unfortunately, last year's product turned toward the mainstream, with a simple big-button user interface. However, all configuration details are still accessible for those who can understand them. And this version adds a lot of new features to the suite's collection.

We were definitely not wowed this year by Symantec's Internet security offering; in fact, it feels a like a step backward to products the company offered years ago. Norton Internet Security 2008 offers top-notch security tools for today's threats, but its tools do not always integrate well, nor are they adequately explained. In at least one scenario, we were able to turn off one security feature only to have another security feature prompt us to provide personal information to a fraudulent Web site--while Symantec declined to call it a flaw, we differ.

McAfee Security Suite 2008 Review

Reviewed by: Robert Vamosi (Reviewed on 11/26/07    Release date: 10/1/07)

At first glance, McAfee Internet Security 2008 appears not much different from last year's offering. But with a decisive change in the competitive landscape (i.e. Symantec's slip and stumble), McAfee's suite comes out looking much better this year. Whereas McAfee VirusScan 2008 looks and feels like warmed-over last year's product, the additional elements within the Internet suite and low price makes McAfee Internet Security 2008 a serious competitor.

Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 Revew
Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 provides comprehensive security with a nicely organized interface and a lot of very useful (and, in our opinion, excessive) features. The Russian vendor's antivirus engine is used to power dozens of better-known viral crusaders, including the popular F-Secure Internet Security, Active Virus Shield (offered to AOL members as a result of OEM agreement with Kaspesky Lab) and others.
